Cables
The Goal
For machine knitters, the cables feature in DesignaKnit is useful for planning and positioning cables precisely on your garment pieces.
Things to keep in mind for machine knitting:
- Cables are always hand manipulated
- Cables are not downloaded or added to punchcards
- Cables are often combined with purl stitches. Purl stitches can be created:
- By knitting with the ribber
- Using a Brother Garter Carriage
- Manually re-forming purl stitches
- Very wide cables are not practical on the machine
- When machine knitting, cables can be used 2 ways:
- From printed instructions
- From Interactive Knitting
