Sometimes scans from vintage books come out not-so-perfectly. In this example, the grey background makes it more difficult to convert the image.

Building on the skills in the previous example, let's use a few more of the Graphics Studio tools to convert this not-so-perfect image.

Remember, you don't have to convert the entire image, identify the repeats and convert a single repeat.

Files must be in an image format (jpg, gif, png etc) Adobe PDF files must be converted to a image format. (JPG, PNG, GIF etc)

Are you having trouble getting a clean conversion? Check these things:

• Check the Image Type


• Grid Alignment
  • Make sure the size of the grid is correct
  • Align the grid by using the corners - one punchcard "hole"per grid box


• Enlarge or reduce the "windows"created by the color Sampling Outlines


• Adjust the "Black Sensitivity"


• In the Yarn colors, click "None" then re-select black and white


• In the Yarn colors, adjust the colors by clicking on the color and adjusting the RGB (red, green, blue) settings
