Better Photo Conversions
DAK 9 now has an additional method for converting photos to stitch patterns with more detail.
*Dither is an intentionally applied form of noise used to randomize quantization error, preventing large-scale patterns such as color banding in images ~Wikipedia

- Option 1: Fine-grained dithering* for best detail
- Option 2: Courser dithering
- Option 3: No dithering: solid or bird's-eye colors

Picture Conversion Preview
The conversion Setting for Picture now includes the option:
"Show preview at one pixel per stitch and per row"
When checked, this option shows a miniature preview of the finished knitted result at the top right of the main window, in addition to the preview in the main workspace.
Advantages of Miniature Preview:
When checked, this option shows a miniature preview of the finished knitted result at the top right of the main window, in addition to the preview in the main workspace.
Advantages of Miniature Preview:
- It allows the finished effect to be visualized more easily. The new dithering looks better when zoomed out (the small preview) because of the way it can use highly contrasting yarn colors to create subtle differences in shades.
- The monitor's pixellation can confuse the pixellation created by the conversion. The small preview overcomes this to some extent
- If you've skewed the grid when setting up the conversion, the small preview gives you a better view of the finished conversion

Tidy Image
The Tidy Image tool enables changes to be made to an image before it is converted to a stitch pattern.
In coverting images to knitting patterns, the goal is to keep the image as un-complicated (color-wise) as possible. By "tidying" the image in advance, the tool will remove unwanted colors before conversion
